Workflow Step

The Triple Modality 3D Abdominal Phantom and the Image-Guided Abdominal Biopsy Phantom are simplified abdominal phantoms suitable for training and demonstrating image-guided needle biopsy navigation tools or procedures that require a constant visual reference for needle placement.

Triple Modality 3D Abdominal Phantom

  • Useful tool for applications such as image fusion studies; imaging protocol developments; scan technique training; and system testing, validation, and demonstration.
  • Includes anthropomorphic internal structures.

  • Re-usable
    • Will not dry out, or leak when punctured
    • Masses can be biopsied multiple times
  • Improve performance of freehand abdominal biopsies
  • Test new equipment

Image-Guided Abdominal Biopsy Phantom

  • Minimal needle tracking-- Z-skinTM fat layer and softer gel provide better self-healing properties

  • Re-usable
    • Will not dry out, or leak when punctured
    • Masses can be biopsied multiple times
  • Improve performance of freehand abdominal biopsies
  • Validate automated biopsy systems
